Build-a-Bash is a local, mom owned and family run kid’s party entertainment service out of Goldenridge. For over nine years they’ve been taking the work out of having your child’s party in and around Levittown as well as serving the community. Get to know Jamielynn, her juggler, her DJ/wizard, and her muscle and learn all about the story of Build-a-Bash. Party on!
LC: Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about yourself. I am originally from Fishtown but moved to Levittown 13 years ago. I have two kids, a daughter getting ready to enter high school and a son in elementary. My husband and I have been together since we were 15; we met in the 5th grade (insert the aww here). I started this business so I could be home with my kids and fully intend to pass it on to them some day. LC: Tell us about your family. Speaking of my awesome family… my husband is my biggest supporter and helps me tremendously. He has feedback for all my crazy ideas, my tech support, and of course muscle to help me carry all my equipment. My daughter accompanies me to a lot to parties! She’s a circus school student and a great juggler, stiltwalker, and budding balloon artist. She’s amazing with small children and this has been a great way for her to share her talents with the community. My young son is a Boy Scout and my future DJ; he also can be seen at many events dressed as our Build-a-Bash wizard. This is very much a family based business and I couldn’t do it without their support!
LC: Tell us about Build-a-Bash. Build-a-Bash is a mobile party entertainment company; we basically bring all the fun right to your doorstep. We offer cotton candy, popcorn, sno cones, kids dj, airbrush tattoo, glitter tattoo, costume appearances, balloon art workshop where we actually make a few simple balloon shapes and teach the kids, and of course our resident stilt walking juggler likes to show off her skills. It’s a unexpected bonus that the kids always enjoy. I’m always working on bringing new, fun services to our clients. I try to take some of the stress out of the process and get back to focusing on the fun.
LC: What can customers expect from a Build-a-Bash party? When you call Build-a-Bash you can expect great customer service and someone who truly cares about your event. My goal is for my clients to enjoy their events, not work them. I stay with my equipment because I truly believe in this statement. I am always available through email, phone, Facebook, and even text to bring my clients peace of mind. I am aware of people’s budgets and strive to offer kid friendly services at parent friendly prices.
LC: Tell us about the community based activities that Build a Bash takes part in. Growing up, my neighborhood had a small town feel and I want that for my kids, therefore I continue to be very community driven. We have worked a lot with Emerson Elementary providing DJ service for their father/daughter, and 6th grade dances as well as Santa appearances for years. Last year we sponsored a Bristol Township girl’s softball team, we have taken part in Truman Rams events, donated baskets/services to fundraising events, (we are big firehouse supporters) and I’m currently working on a business card exchange event to create more awareness about supporting local businesses. I always refer my clients to other small businesses in an effort to keep the money in our area to stimulate local economy. We have a ton of amazing small businesses, we really need to lift each other up and keep it local.
LC: What do you like to do with your free time? In our free time, we are pretty involved with the circus arts community. We have made some amazing friends and it’s been family friendly fun, which has been great! We also like to spend time with our friends we’ve met through Scouts, many of who have become like extended family. Last summer we started bike riding as a family in an effort to strive for a healthier lifestyle and we clocked over 400 miles. We also became friends with a family that owns a bike shop and have even taken part in a few community rides through Bristol boro.
LC: What are some of your favorite things about Levittown? This may sound silly but my favorite things about Levittown are the amount of local parks and the sky… corny, I know. We are campers though and the best times for me are sitting around a campfire with an uninterrupted view of the night sky and just exploring a big open space with my family. Tyler state park is a great spot for stargazing and they have good bike trails too!
LC: What do you like about Levittown Comfort? Levittown Comfort, you had me at the Oxford Valley Mall pictures. Although I’m not originally from Levittown, my family spent many weekends there. I used to scare my mom by letting go of my brother’s stroller at the top of the ramp. I would run next to it and we would race down, my brother loved it…my mom, not so much. Sorry mom, hahaha. Thanks, Jaimelynn, for letting us get to know you and the story of Build-a-Bash. Your story is what Levittown Comfort is all about. If you’re looking to get your kids party on, you can contact Jaimelynn on her Facebook page, via email or call 267-246-9750.
